about

Someplace in the world, the head is considered a pot where good and bad thoughts are stored, along with memories. When I learned that my father had dementia, it was emotional and scary and sad. It is difficult to see that someone's pot is broken.

lyrics

I was in the store just the other day
passed an arrow brown man with hair of grey
and he was fighting with his cart.
He was in the in and he was in the out
and his cart was stuck and he couldn't get out
although he knew where he was going
and the reason why no exit came
was the pole on the cart was supposed to stay

Chorus
That's someone’s father, someone’s uncle, someone’s brother
someone’s friend who is falling
It’s someone blaming, someone fighting
someone ducked undercover and struck by lightning
He's an average man on an average day
who can’t stand in the sun no more
whose shadow came to visit and now it stays
Broken pots dream brighter everyday

He pushed the cart and he pulled the pole
and a man stopped to help him, God bless his soul
but no reason could deter him
He had set his aim with the straightest line
he could see the target but not the sight line
and he said I know I'm gonna get this
And I tried to help though it was in vain
and I spoke real soft and tried to explain

Chorus

I try not to think about where you're going
I try not to think about where you are
But some day I see you in another
How did it start how did you get so far?

The man who helped first looked at me to say
Not much to do here, I think he wants it that way
We stood and witnessed this mans riot
And he said, God bless as I walked away
It was a loaded blessing as if to say
But for the grace of God go I
I walked to my car and I thought of you
and the cashier asked Sir can I help you?

Chorus
